When a milestone deserves more than a corner of a busy dining room, Koyal's private dining room in Surbiton is the answer. The space sits within the main restaurant but is fully dedicated - your own tables, your own service team, your own pace. It is designed for groups of up to 20 guests where the table is the focus of the evening.
What the space offers
The room is candlelit and warm, finished in the same materials as the main dining room - teal walls, gold accents, and Indian textile detailing. There is a single long table for the full group, comfortable seating, and full table service from a dedicated team. Sound from the main restaurant is kept out, so conversation can flow without raised voices.
The room can be configured for a single round table of eight, two long tables of ten, or one long table of fifteen to twenty. Layout is agreed in advance based on the event.
What you eat
Private dining at Koyal works from a tailored menu rather than the standard a la carte. Most groups choose between three formats:
- Party Set Menu - a generous shared format drawn from the a la carte highlights, designed for celebrations
- Tasting Menu - the same seven-course progression served in the main restaurant, paced for a private group
- Bespoke menu - built directly with Chef Nand Kishor, ideal for milestone dinners and corporate hosting
Occasions Koyal hosts
The private room regularly hosts birthdays, anniversaries, christenings, retirements, small weddings, and corporate client dinners. It is also a popular choice for board dinners and senior team off-sites. We can quietly arrange flowers, candles, cake delivery, and personalised menu printing - just let us know at the booking stage.
How to book
Private dining inquiries go through our reservations team. View the private dining page for current pricing and availability, or contact us to discuss dates and menu options. We recommend booking four to six weeks ahead for weekends.
